Sex and The City‘s Sarah Jessica Parker and Invivo have bottled the world’s spiciest wine trend with a Sauvignon Blanc naturally infused with jalapeño!
Inspired by the social media craze of dropping fresh jalapeño slices into a glass of wine, the new Invivo X, SJP release turns the global trend into a polished, ready-to-pour format – and a New Zealand first.
First launched by Invivo in the US, it’s now finally hitting shelves in NZ this spring and you can imagine Carrie Bradshaw liking this a lot! The sauvignon blanc is crisp and tropical – add jalapeño and you get something that’s crisp on the first sip and then surprises you with heat. That’s basically Carrie’s whole fashion philosophy: classic bones, unexpected kick. Like a vintage chartreuse-green Halston slip dress accessorised with a statement belt in burnt orange, a jalapeño corsage and gold high heels. Well that’s how we imagine it!
This wine is made with premium New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc grapes and infused with natural jalapeño and chili extracts, delivering crisp, tropical notes with controlled, buildable heat.
Invivo Wines’ Co-founders Rob Cameron and Tim Lightbourne partnered closely with Parker to translate the hack into a balanced, premium wine expression.

“Rob, Tim and I spent months getting the balance just right. We wanted a wine with a little bit of heat, but never at the expense of the wine itself. It had to be something we’d genuinely want to pour for friends and have on our own table,” says Parker.
According to SJP it’s crisp and refreshing, with the spice coming through gently rather than taking over. And should be served ice cold.
“It’s already become a favourite in our house. I’m thrilled it’s finally available in New Zealand, and I hope people enjoy drinking it as much as we enjoyed creating it. I simply love it and it’s been a real treat to share it with dear friends this summer!” she says.
Spicy Jalapeño Sauvignon Blanc marks the first New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc to bring this trending serve to market, reflecting how wine drinkers are experimenting with flavour.
The launch builds on the continued momentum of the Invivo X, SJP partnership, established in 2019 by Parker, Lightbourne and Cameron. Their flagship Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand, has earned more than 70 gold medals and consistent 90-point scores from Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, and James Suckling. The portfolio has since expanded to include a French Rosé, New Zealand Pinot Noir, 0% Sauvignon Blanc and now a Spicy Jalapeño Sauvignon Blanc.

This summer, Invivo X, SJP Spicy Jalapeño Sauvignon Blanc is pouring by the glass at Tacoteca, the trend-setting Mexican Taqueria in City Works Depot.
Tacoteca sommelier Edmundo Farrera has put his own fun spin on the trend with a bespoke spicy cocktail, “Spicy Sangria Verde”.
As of today, it’s now pouring by-the-glass at bars and restaurants across New Zealand, like Tacoteca at Cityworks Depot and Rosie’s Red-Hot Cantina in Wellington. Available by the bottle at Liquorland and selected Super Liquor, Bottle O and Liquor Centre stores nationwide.
