Skin soaking, nourishing and aromatically rich, HIVERN’s just released foray into skincare introduces high-performance products formulated by skincare alchemist Margaret Hema.
HIVERN co-founder Tamara Tubbs had a unique advantage in securing Margaret Hema’s first-ever formulation collaboration beyond her own brand.
Margaret Hema is her mum – making it a very special mother and daughter co-creation.
Like all Hema formulations, the scent and performance of this dynamic hand soap and hand crème are exceptional. Both are hand-friendly, high-performance products. After using the hand crème especially, you will see the difference. It absorbs into the skin quickly and provides deep hydration and sustained moisture without the sticky feeling one often gets from hand creams. The results are instant and you’ll want to keep smelling your hands because the woody aroma is sublime.
The pair have named the fragrance of soap and hand crème duo Cypress, describing the aroma as woody, vanilla and citrus. It’s uplifting, calming and luxurious.

The exfoliating hand wash uses jojoba beads to gently cleanse the hands and is enhanced with extracts of tangerine, sandalwood and vanilla. The hand crème has the same beautiful scent and contains goodies such as sweet almond oil, macadamia temifolia seed oil, cacao seed butter, Lavandula angustifolia flower water and calendula officinalis flower extract.
Based in Wellington, fragrance brand HIVERN was launched in 2021 by Tubbs and her husband Christopher.
To date HIVERN has produced beautiful candles and diffusers. The introduction of skincare to this beautiful brand is a welcome addition.
